About Jet Card vs Charter
A charter broker that will tell you, plainly, when a jet card would suit you better than charter. Here is how we work and what you can expect.
Our role
Jet Card vs Charter arranges on-demand private flights. We are a broker, not an airline: the aircraft belong to, and are flown by, certificated operators, which in the US means carriers holding an FAA Part 135 certificate. Our work is finding the right aircraft, pricing it honestly and looking after the trip until you land.
Why we talk about cards at all
Most people who ask us for a charter price are also being offered a jet card, and the two are hard to compare. Card brochures quote hourly rates; charter quotes arrive as trip totals. We think the fair test is to price the same trips both ways, so that is what we help you do. We don’t sell jet cards ourselves, which makes it easy to be straightforward about when one makes sense.
How a quote comes together
When your request arrives, we look for suitable aircraft near your departure airport, check each operator’s certificate and any ARGUS, Wyvern or IS-BAO audits it holds, and build an all-in price: flight time, the 7.5% federal excise tax on US domestic trips, segment fees, and the airport and crew costs we can know in advance. Anything that depends on the day, such as winter de-icing, is listed as a possible extra.
What you can count on
- The operator’s name before you book, and a written charter agreement.
- Aircraft from turboprops to ultra long range jets, for one-way, round-trip and multi-city trips worldwide.
- One advisor from your first question to touchdown.
- No membership, no deposit and no obligation to request a quote.
- Pets on many aircraft, once the operator has approved them.
What we won’t do
We won’t pressure you into a booking, publish invented “live” prices, or pass your details to anyone who doesn’t need them to quote or fly your trip. Our privacy policy explains exactly how your information is handled.
